Comprehensive Testing Backed by Field Knowledge
Our laboratories are equipped for extended hydrocarbon analysis, sulfur speciation, BTEX testing, and liquid property analysis. What sets our lab work apart is the connection to the field. The same technicians who calibrate your meters and collect your samples bring that operational understanding into the analysis process. We know where your product came from, how it flows, and what your data needs to support. That field-to-lab integration ensures every result is accurate, traceable, and defensible.

Natural Gas Analysis
Premier performs natural gas compositional analysis using GPA and ASTM methods to determine BTU content, relative density, molecular weight, and GPM recovery values. We offer standard analysis for C6+ components and extended analysis up to C12+ for detailed hydrocarbon characterization and accurate allocation calculations.
Methods:
- GPA 2261 / GPA 2177: Natural Gas Analysis C6+ (BTU, relative density, molecular weight, GPMs)
- GPA 2286 / GPA 2166: Extended natural gas analysis up to C12+
- GPA 2186: C9+ analysis
- BTEX Analysis: ASTM and GPA methods
Liquid Hydrocarbon Analysis
Our liquid analysis capabilities cover NGL, LPG, condensate, and light petroleum products. We provide extended compositional analysis, vapor pressure testing, and color determination to support product specifications, custody transfer requirements, and quality control verification.
Methods:
- GPA 2261 (Liquid Application): Extended C6+ hydrocarbon analysis
- GPA Extended Liquid Analysis: Composition up to C12+
- Saybolt Color: Visual color determination
- RVP / TVP: Grabner MiniVap Vision (ASTM D323, D6378)
Sulfur Analysis
Premier specializes in sulfur compound identification and quantification across natural gas, NGL, LPG, and light petroleum liquids. Using gas chromatography with sulfur chemiluminescence detection (GC-SCD), we provide speciated sulfur analysis to meet pipeline specifications, product quality standards, and regulatory limits.
Methods:
- ASTM D5504: Sulfur compounds in natural gas and gaseous fuels
- GPA 2199: Sulfur compounds in natural gas
- ASTM D6228: Sulfur compounds in LPG (propane, butane, LPG blends)
- ASTM D5623: Sulfur compounds in light petroleum liquids (gasoline, naphtha, reformates)
- ASTM D7011: Total volatile sulfur in hydrocarbons <230°C (combustion)
- ASTM D7041: Sulfur compounds in olefinic hydrocarbons (propylene, ethylene, butenes)
- UOP 163 / 791: Speciated sulfur in refinery streams (gasoline, reformate, crude fractions)
- ASTM D6667: Total volatile sulfur in gaseous fuels
- Total Sulfur: GPA / ASTM methods
Physical Property & Specialty Testing
In addition to compositional and sulfur analysis, Premier performs physical property tests to evaluate product quality, corrosivity, and distillation characteristics. These tests support product specifications, equipment compatibility assessments, and quality assurance programs.
Methods:
- ASTM D130: Copper Strip Corrosion Test (corrosivity of petroleum products)
- ASTM D3227: Tutweiler Method (sulfur mercaptans in liquid hydrocarbons)
- ASTM D86: End Point Distillation (distillation characteristics of petroleum fractions)
- ASTM D2622 (XRF): Total Sulfur by X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy
